Jay-Z is one my favourite artists. I’m currently listening to his whole discography. I’m currently in listening to Dynasty Roc La Familia and The Blueprint. I’m doing ths because I always admired him, Rocafella and their whole movement; and at the age I’m at I can finally appreciate such a complex artist and the many layers he has in his is music. Because of where I’m at right now on on his discography I haven’t heard this album but I will get to it.
I love the feel of this song and the video. It feels really like House Lannisters in Game of Thrones meets Roc Nation, right?
I love looking at history and how things happen in kingdoms and how they were built or maintained. One of the most poignant things I’ve discovered is that when things start to be come divided, disagreements start to arise that’s when the potential for success for one of the parties ceases to be a real possibility.
An ancient example of this is Genghis Khan and his ally Jamukha. Once a rift developed they eventually went to war and Jamukha was then exiled. Or a more recent example is Death Row Records and Ice Cube, Death Row Records is no longer in existence. Granted their are grievances and sometimes some things done that irreparable. But if you’re truly family you’ll find a way to get over it and if you do you’ll be stronger together than you will when you’re divided.
This is one of the choices from GalleryDeLaRue. I will do their other choice in the coming months. Thanks for your choice.
