This week’s song of the week comes from Michael. This song is a song that is again deep on so many levelsand contains so many layers you can talk about. But I’m going to address a few.
Kid Cudi if you don’t know is one of the most introspective artists you can listen toand addresses topics that aren’t necessary popular like certain “pop ” songs. Here he talks about burdensand worries that people go through.
I recently went on holiday to Berlinand looking around the city was incredible. However there is one pet peeve that I hate. And that is carry around luggage in the airport. I can’t stand it. You can barely move, you walk so slow as a result. If you need to go to the toilet it has to come with you; if you need to move to another departure gate, you have to drag it with you. Its such a huge weight, but you know it has to be done.
That is what carrying emotional baggage is like. It slows you down, it makes it more difficult for you to engage in meaningful relationships. This is what Kid Cudi is talking about.
And I feel as though for guys its much worse, that’s why if you look in any country in the world; I guarantee the suicide rate in that nation will be higher in males than women. Just awful.
That’s why it is cool that someone like Kid Cudi is making a song about this. (Well in fact his whole career is based around topics such as this). Because he’s articulating through his musical gift. Hey! I go through the same thing. Let’s talk, build, bounce emotions. Because sometimes you feel like you’re alone suffering, but that’s the biggest lieand he’s showing that.
If you’re reading this just know that you’re not alone try to speak to someone you trust in complete confidence. And with time, patienceand persistence get rid of the emotional baggage. It’ll be the best thing you’ll ever do.
Thanks for this choice Michael. I’m sorry this blog was long but I just have so much to say about this topic.
