When Theresa wrote this song down in Bricklane, I couldn’t really hear what she was saying; as it was very loud at the time. When she was trying to say: “You know, Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen! ”
It was not until it was written down I was like yeaaaahh I’ve heard of this song. I’ve heard it in TV and movies but never really sat down to listen to it myself. But after listening to it I have to admit that this song really is an incredible piece of art.
What really stuck with me is the first half of the song. The lyrics are really depressing but the way it’s sang its made to seem really cool and catchy. But the lyrics can honestly be how people feel sometimes. Its sometimes how I feel! But those negative, draining feelings of.. “Sometimes I wish I’ve never been born.” Amongst other phrases the singer says are usually a symptom of being focused on yourself for too long.
I watched an interview Michelle Williams (of Destiny’s Child) said that at the peak of their fame she had the greatest level of depression. For me I was like why?!! You’re popping, you were rich!! What you gotta be depressed about?!
But sometimes its being too focused on yourself for too long doesn’t help. Or it can be a chemical imbalance. Either way trying to help others and appreciating what you do have always helps me. I hope it helps you too.
Thanks for your choice Theresa!
